Can You Seek A Student Loan Refinance Multiple Times?
Many people are curious if they can do a student loan refinance more than once in order to lower payments or reset their deferment calendar. In the past, it was possible to consolidate student loans multiple times. However, after July 1st, 2006 there are restrictions on doing a student loan refinance more than once.
When it's possible to seek a second student loan refinance:

If you have multiple student loan consolidations from different lenders you can apply for a student loan refinance to wrap the multiple payments into a single loan payment.

If you've got one or more new student loans that were not included in your original student loan refinance, then you are entitled to a second student loan refinance. The new loan must be one of the following eligible student loans:
